Before you launch the utility, you must stop all the PPMPrimavera Portfolio Management services.
Warning: Data cleanup cannot be undone. Once the data has been cleaned up, it is deleted from the database and cannot be retrieved.
To clean up the database:
- From the Start menu, select Programs, then Primavera Portfolio Management, then Database Cleanup Utility.
- Log into the utility.
You must log in as a user assigned the Cleanup database security module.
- Click Define Cleanup....
- In the Data Cleanup dialog box, on the Mode list, select:
- Categories to delete the category data you specify.
- Sub-item types to delete the sub-item type data you specify.
- Duplicate values to resolve all duplicates of data in portfolios, items, and sub-items.
- If you selected Categories:
- Optionally click
next to the Categories list to exclude categories from the clean-up process.
- Optionally click
next to the Items list to exclude items and portfolios from the clean-up process.
- Optionally select a date if you want to delete only categories data older than that date.
- Optionally click
- If you selected Sub-item types:
- Optionally click
next to the Sub-item types list to exclude data types from the clean-up process.
- Optionally click
next to the Items list to exclude items and portfolios from the clean-up process.
- Optionally select a date if you want to delete only sub-item type data older than that date.
- Optionally click
- Refer to the Details field to check what data will be cleaned up and how much space will become available as a result of the cleanup.
- Click Run Cleanup.
Note: you can click the Stop button on the progress bar to stop the process at any point. Database integrity will be maintained, however any data that has already been deleted cannot be retrieved.
- When the Database Cleanup Utility completes, it will report the result of the process, as either Success or Failure.
If the process fails, the data that has already been deleted will be irretrievable and the database integrity might be compromised. You can restore your database from a backup to try again.
