Oracle recommends that before using the Database Cleanup Utility, you:
- Create a backup of your database.
- Create a test environment to run the Database Cleanup Utility against a copy of your database to ensure the process runs smoothly.
- Enable the Error entry in the Registry. This registry entry will help you to track the progress of the task and troubleshoot any problems that occur by referring to the log file. The default location of the log file is C:\Program Files\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\log.
To add the Registry entry:
- Open the registry editor.
- Navigate to the following location:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\Primavera Portfolio Management\Portfolios\Debug\Switches - Right click in the folder, select New, and select DWORD (32 bit) Value.
- For the name of the new DWORD value, type
Error. - Double-click the Error item and in the DWORD (32 bit) Value dialog box, in the Value data field, type 1.
