American Airlines (AA) are a major airline in the United States headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, within the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. They are the largest airline in the world when measured by scheduled passengers carried and revenue passenger mile. AA run one of the worlds biggest Loyalty programs with over 100m members. Siebel Loyalty powers the AAdvantage program on a self-healing cloud architecture, one of the worlds largest Siebel CRM implementations operating with Kubernetes orchestration.

AA are using a mix of Oracle RAC and Exadata Cloud Service on OCI. In terms of results, not only did this provide an estimated gain of 30% cost reduction per month, but with the latest Exadata hardware for improved performance, it also uses less CPU than the previous on-premises hardware, thus providing a greener footprint overall.
