About Oracle Customer Hub (UCM) Functions and Services
The database tables and Siebel Connector for Master Data Applications support insert, delete, update, and query functionality on primary data, such as customers, products, and so on. When these functions are available in Siebel Business Applications and back-office systems, they can be used to make modifications to an organization’s data, which is then stored and reconciled in Oracle Customer Hub. Oracle Customer Hub (UCM) also provides the following services through configuration:
Publish. Publish data records from Oracle Customer Hub (UCM) to subscribing applications. For more information on administering this functionality, see Setting System Privileges for Oracle Master Data Management Applications.
Request and reply. Other applications send a request for data from Oracle Customer Hub. For more information on configuring request and reply, see Setting System Privileges for Oracle Master Data Management Applications.
Services can be configured to operate in real-time mode or batch mode. Oracle Customer Hub (UCM) uses a variety of integration techniques to allow the operation of functions and services between other applications and themselves. See About Oracle Customer Hub (UCM) Architecture for more information.
