Defining Search Categories and Adding Categories to the Engine
After you have performed initial setup and configuration tasks, perform the following tasks to define search categories and to add categories to the Siebel - Unity Data Export engine.

Create a search category and add the fields to this category. To do so:

Navigate to the Administration - Data Export screen, then the Data Export Category Definition view.

Create records for the data categories that you want to export and specify the BC Name (business component name) that they map to.

Define filter specifications for the category.
You define filter specifications for a category in order to restrict the data to be extracted in bulk and incremental loads. When the data is extracted, this filter specification is added while querying the data from the business component. For more information about the operators you can use in filter specifications, see Siebel Developer's Reference. Filter specifications are not applied for delete operations in incremental loads.

Define Category Fields in the grandchild applet.
These are the fields that you want to export for this category.

Use the Data Export Settings view to add the categories to the engine.
If any of the categories fails, select and resubmit it by clicking the Resubmit button.
