Configuring Super Users

Defining a product administrator as a super user involves assigning the "Product Authoring Super User" responsibility to the user, as shown in the following procedure.

Once a user is assigned this responsibility, then that user's ISSSuperUser profile attribute is set to Y to indicate that they are a super user. If a user's ISSSuperUser profile attribute is set to N, then this indicates that the user is not a super user.

A super user can unlock objects, modify objects and edit Workspaces, and release objects locked by other users – for more information, see Unlocking Objects.

To configure super users for product administration

  1. Navigate to the Administration - Application screen, then the Responsibilities view.

  2. Query for and select the Product Authoring Super User responsibility.

    Note:

If this responsibility doesn’t exist, create one.

  3. Select the Responsibilities tab, and then do the following:

    1. In the User applet, add (product administrator) users to the responsibility as required.

For example, add the following users: SADMIN or any other users you want to be part of the responsibility.

    2. This responsibility does not require any views.
