Recovery

1. Identify the affected MP and queue utilization level; correlate the onset with security-log rate, CPU utilization, disk-space alarms, and 70438 on the same MP.
2. If 70438 is present, correct the security-log file, directory, permission, or capacity cause first; a logging failure can prevent the queue from draining.
3. Check for an abnormal increase in security logging or traffic. Reduce the source condition only through the approved operational/change process; do not disable security logging merely to clear the alarm.
4. Verify that queue utilization falls below the clear threshold and that the alarm clears. Escalate with traces and the correlated alarms if utilization remains high or recurs.
