About the Transform page user interface

Provides basic information about the header and menu features.

Transform page header information

At the top of Transform is a summary of the project data set. For example:
This image shows the header information for a data set displayed on the Transform page.

This summary includes:
  • The number of records in the sample being used
  • The number of records in the entire data set
  • The number of records in the sample that match the current refinements
  • The number of attributes in the data set
  • A link to show/hide data set properties

Transform menu

Underneath the header is the attribute menu. It contains all the transformations that you can apply to an attribute. For example:
This image shows the transform menu displayed on the Transform page.

This menu includes transforms grouped into the following categories:
  • Shaping - transforms to filter attributes, delete attributes, aggregate attributes, and join data sets.
  • Basic - transforms to perform basic text manipulation (split, trim, and so on).
  • Convert - transforms to convert an attribute data type to another data type.
  • Advanced - transforms for more sophisticated operations such as extracting information from attributes and creating new attributes based on geography, entities, key phrases, and so on.
  • Editor - displays the Transformation Editor where you can write custom transformation steps and add them to a transformation script.
The page header can also contain:
  • A value indicating the total number of transforms in the transformation script.
  • A value indicating the number of uncommited transforms in the transformation script.
