Before you begin, ensure that you're authorized to approve the access and resources described in the provider setup.
Cost Advisor for AI uses OCI cost reports to analyze your tenancy's OCI Generative AI costs. These reports cover billable resources across the tenancy and are stored in an Oracle-owned Object Storage bucket hosted by OCI.
Cost Advisor for AI extracts OCI Generative AI cost data from the reports and transfers it to a separate, Oracle-owned Cost Advisor for AI tenancy. The extracted data is stored for analysis in an Object Storage bucket created for the workspace within that tenancy.
To associate the collected OCI Generative AI costs with a management hierarchy and cost center, add a project ID mapping. Use OCI as the provider code and the tenancy OCID as the project ID. The tenancy's collected costs map to one hierarchy and cost center. This mapping doesn't divide them by compartment or cost-allocation tag.
To review Cost Advisor data and insights, ensure that the workspace also has a Fusion EPM destination.
