Using Jobs

Learn how to create and manage your jobs.

The Transcription Jobs page

On each information page, you can edit, show and copy the OCID, add tags, and view tags for the selected job.

Viewing Job Information

To open a job's detail page, you can click the job's name, or use the Actions menu next to the name, and click View Details.

From the Job Information tab, you can view these details:

General information
  • A description of the job if one was defined.

  • A shortened version of the job OCID is displayed. You can use the Show and Hide links to toggle the display of the full OCID. Use the Copy link to save the entire OCID to your clipboard to paste it elsewhere. For example, you could paste into a file and save it, then use it in your scripts.

  • The date and time when the job was created, accepted, started, and finished.

  • The job duration time.

Filter information

Shows any filter applied and in what mode the filter was applied.

Data

Indicates the input and output data buckets.

Transcription information

Identifies the language for the resulting transcrition file.

Identifies whether punctuation was enabled (the default) or disabled.

When there are additional file formats specified in the job, they are identified. For example, SRT.

Tasks

The list of tasks for the job show you the task:

  • Status accepted, in progress, succeeded, or failed.

  • Audio file duration, and size.

  • Start date and time, and the duration.

From the Tags tab, you can view any tags that were created. You can click the pencil icon to:
  • Edit who created the tag.

  • Edit the date the tag was created.

  • Click Remove tag to delete the tag.

The tasks that processed in the job are listed with details including the status, file duration, file size, and so on.

Canceling a Job

To cancel a job, you can click the job's name, or use the Actions menu next to the name, and click Cancel. You can only cancel a job when it is in progress or no tasks have been created. When no tasks have been created, the job is in an accepted state.

Canceled is an end state meaning it's done. Canceling means that it is in the process of trying to cancel all tasks, but it's possible that it might not get to all the tasks before they are switched to a state that can't be canceled.

Editing Jobs

To edit a job, you can click the job's name, or use the Actions menu next to the name, and click Edit. You can change the name and description for the job.

Adding Tags to Jobs

Add tags to easily locate and track resources by selecting a tag namespace, then entering the key and value. To add more than one tag, click +Additional Tags.

Tagging describes the various tags that you can use organize and find resources including cost-tracking tags.
