Application Performance Monitoring data sources gather data and upload it to an APM domain. The data gathered by the data sources are referred to as observations.
To upload observations to Application Performance Monitoring, you require the following information generated when an APM domain is created:
- Data Upload Endpoint: The Data Upload Endpoint is the URL to which a data source sends the observations. The Data Upload Endpoint is generated when an APM domain is created, and each APM domain has its own Data Upload Endpoint.
- Data Keys: A data key is required to ensure that Application Performance Monitoring accepts the
observation. Two default data keys are generated when an APM domain is
- Public Data Key value is required to upload observations collected by APM Browser agents.
- Private Data Key value is required to upload observations collected by APM Server agents and APM tracer.
For information about the data sources available in Application Performance Monitoring, see Application Performance Monitoring Data Sources.
You can obtain the values of the Data Upload Endpoint and Data Keys using the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure console.
You must ensure that the APM domain is created and navigate to the Domain Details page. The Data Upload Endpoint is displayed under APM Domain Information and the data keys are listed under Data Keys. For more information, see Create an APM Domain Using the Console.
