Prerequisites

To create a Database Tools MCP Server, you need the following:

• A Database Tools connection already created for the target database. See Creating a Connection for instructions on how to create a connection.
• An IAM Identity Domain where you have permission to manage MCP resources. See IAM with Identity Domains for more information.
• Required permissions to create and manage Database Tools MCP Servers, Toolsets, and Connections in the target compartment. See For Database Tools Model Context Protocol Servers for information about policies for MCP Server.
