OCI Linux

This section describes the steps to set up the Oracle Cloud Agent and deploy the JMS plug-ins on an Oracle Linux Compute Instance. For Oracle Linux instances in different region and/or tenancy and other supported Linux platforms, follow the On-premises Linux instructions to set up Oracle Management Agent.

Before you begin, review the prerequisites and the overview of the steps.

Prerequisites:

Read Enable Management Agents on Compute Instances and ensure that you met all the prerequisites (see Perform Prerequisites for Deploying Management Agents on Compute Instances).
Set up the policies as described in Setting Up Oracle Cloud Infrastructure for Fleets.

Steps

Enable the Management Agent and Java Management Service plug-ins on your compute instance's Oracle Cloud Agent tab as described in Enable Management Agents Using the Console.
Note
- The agent is installed with MACS default telemetry frequency.
Verify the installation, as described in Verify Management Agents on Compute Instances.
Register the compute instance to a JMS fleet using the fleet's Add Managed Instance(s) action in the Managed Instances view.
1. If the compute instance shows up in the Unregistered Managed Instances list, you can select it and add it to the fleet. It may take some time for the compute instance to show up in the Unregistered Managed Instances list after the plugins are enabled.
2. Alternatively, add the compute instance using the compute instance OCID in the Manual registration section.

The log files are located in the /var/log/oracle-cloud-agent/plugins/oci-jms/ directory.
