Editing Database Management

You can change the management type of Database Management on a DB system. Basic and full monitoring are available.

Using the Console

Use the Console to edit the management type of Database Management on a DB system. By default, Database Management performs basic monitoring when enabled.

This task requires the following:
Do the following to edit the management type of Database Management on a DB system:
  1. On the DB systems list page, select the DB system that you want to work with. If you need help finding the list page or the DB system, see Listing DB Systems - Using the Console.

    The details page opens and displays information about the DB system.

  2. Select the Tools tab.
  3. Find the Management type field under Database Management, select Edit
  4. In the Edit Database Management dialog box, select one of the following:
    • Basic monitoring: This option is available at no additional cost and includes fleet management, basic monitoring metrics, SQL monitoring in Performance Hub, and configuration variable monitoring.
    • Full monitoring: This option includes advanced Database Management monitoring features at an additional cost. In addition to the features available as part of the Basic monitoring option, the Full monitoring option includes the full set of advanced monitoring metrics, Performance Hub, replication monitoring, and other features.
