Handing Off Oracle Radio Administration

Add and verify another Radio administrator before changing the former administrator's Radio access.

You must be a current Radio administrator with radio.user.manage to enable or disable Radio users and radio.group.manage to administer the Radio Administrators group. The replacement administrator must be an active user in the Public Safety and Security instance's Identity Domain.

The Radio Administrators group can contain multiple users. Adding a user grants its administrative permissions, but doesn't change the initial administrator recorded for the Public Safety and Security instance or transfer the Super administrator designation shown in Radio.

Keep the current administrator enabled and in Radio Administrators until the replacement verifies access independently. Don't remove or disable the last verified administrator. Radio protects the designated super administrator, not every administrator or every Identity Domain account.

Important

The user marked Super administrator can't be disabled or removed from Radio Administrators. Adding a replacement to the group doesn't remove that protection. There is no supported customer Console or SDK procedure to transfer this designation in the current release. If that user must be replaced or administrator access is lost, follow recovery guidance.

Routine upgrades with the unchanged super administrator designation don't re-enable Radio access or restore removed memberships. An upgrade isn't an account-recovery procedure.

  1. If the replacement user doesn't exist, have your Identity Domain administrator create the user in the Public Safety and Security instance's Identity Domain and confirm that the account is active.
Creating an Identity Domain user doesn't grant Radio access or Radio group membership.
  2. In Radio, select Users icon Users.
  3. Find the replacement Identity Domain user and enable Radio access if it isn't already enabled.
  4. Select Groups icon Groups.
  5. Open Radio Administrators group.
  6. Under Users, find and select the replacement user, and then add the selected user to the group.
  7. Have the replacement administrator sign in independently and verify that they can manage users and groups on the Users and Groups pages.
  8. If the former administrator no longer needs Radio access and isn't marked Super administrator, only after successful verification, remove that user from Radio Administrators or disable that user's Radio access.
This changes Radio access, not the Identity Domain account or the instance's initial-administrator designation. Don't use Identity Domain account deletion or disablement to bypass Radio protection. Contact Oracle Support if the protected administrator must be replaced.
The replacement administrator can manage Radio users and groups. The Public Safety and Security instance's initial administrator is unchanged.
