Use Self-Service W-4P Tax Form for Retirees
This release delivers a new Tax Form (W-4P) module that enables retired individuals to declare their withholding preferences to the payer of their pension or annuity payments and to generate the Withholding Certificate for Periodic Pension or Annuity Payments.
The Tax Form W-4P page enables retired individuals to:
- Review existing Federal W-4P withholding preferences.
- Update Federal W-4P withholding preferences.
- Review updated Federal W-4P withholding preferences.
This enhancement permits retired and other eligible individuals to comply with Federal Form W-4P requirements through Employee Self-Service, eliminating the need for paper-based submission processes. Since the Federal W-4P form now differs from the standard Federal W-4 tax form, the application provides dedicated support for managing W-4P withholding elections electronically. This feature helps reduce administrative costs and overhead for HR departments by minimizing manual processing, reducing paper form handling, and enabling individuals to update their tax withholding information more efficiently through self-service functionality.

A new field "W:4P: Income from Multiple Pensions and/or Jobs" is added to Further Federal Tax Info. The updates made to the Tax Form (W-4P) in self-service are saved to this field.

Steps to enable and configure
By default, the Tax Form (W-4P) function is not added to any predefined self-service responsibility. To enable retired individuals to access the Tax Form (W-4P) pages, administrators must add this function to the relevant menu of the self-service responsibility that the retired individuals use. Note that this self-service responsibility must be associated with a separate business group since retired or terminated employees should be in a separate business group.
Note that there is no state equivalent form provided; this new tax form is only available at the federal level.
