Create and Update BOM Resources and Departments Using Public APIs

You can use public APIs for BOM Resources and Departments to create or update resources and departments. You can create or update resources and departments from legacy systems and use the existing public API capability to setup resource instances and map them to department resources. Use the following updated and new APIs to create or update resources and departments:

Public API Name	Internal Name	Description
Process Department	PROCESS_DEPARTMENT	This procedure is updated to create or update a department and create or update or delete its child entity such as department resource and resource Instance.
Process Resources	PROCESS_RESOURCES	This public API is introduced in this release to create or update single or multiple resources and associate employees or equipment to resources in the same organization.

Prior to this release, you could associate resource instances and department mappings using APIs but not create or update resources and department definitions.

Manual resources and department definitions updates through the Forms user interfaces can be time-consuming for organizations with large or complex manufacturing setups. This new feature provides a systematic and automated approach using APIs to manage these critical components of manufacturing routings, ensuring data consistency, and operational efficiency.
