Recheck Archival Eligibility When RMA or Service Lines Are Created
Maintain data accuracy by updating the archiving eligibility of referenced orders when Return Material Authorizations (RMA) or service lines are created in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.13. Previously, RMAs or service lines linked to an original order did not automatically reassess the archiving eligibility, which could leave ineligible orders in active databases despite related activities were completed. This feature ensures that the system re-evaluates the archiving eligibility of referenced orders upon creation of associated RMAs or service lines, enabling timely data management.
This enhancement offers significant business value by ensuring that archiving status reflects the latest order relationships, reducing database clutter, and supporting compliance with data retention policies. It addresses needs in industries with frequent returns or service activities, such as retail and equipment manufacturing, where linked transactions impact data lifecycle management. Use cases include updating an order’s archiving eligibility after processing a full return via RMA. Implementation considerations involve monitoring eligibility updates triggered by RMAs or service lines and ensuring that archiving processes align with these dynamic changes for accurate data handling.
Steps to enable and configure
You don't need to do anything to enable this feature.
Tips and considerations
- Monitor the impact of RMA or service line creation on archiving eligibility to ensure only fully resolved orders are archived and prevent premature data movement.
- Ensure archiving processes are configured to reassess eligibility dynamically to maintain database efficiency.
- Document the linkage between RMAs, service lines, and archiving eligibility for transparency in data lifecycle management.
