Entering Variable Values for a Dimension Variable

A dimension variable is a Oracle Hyperion Planning, Oracle General Ledger, or Oracle Essbase replacement variable. This variables contains a dimension that you select.

To enter values for a dimension variable:

  1. From Type, select Dimension.
  2. In the Variable Grid, select a dimension. The dimensions that display are the dimensions that belong to the application for which you are creating the variable.
  3. By default, RTP is selected. Clear RTP if you do not want the variable to have a runtime prompt.

    If you do not select RTP, you must enter a value for the variable.

  4. (Planning and Essbase users only) If you selected RTP, enter the runtime prompt text you want to display for users.
  5. Click Save button.
