Editing Hierarchy Properties

Hierarchy properties are defined at the hierarchy level and are the same for all nodes in the hierarchy. By definition, hierarchy properties are always local properties.

Table 4-1 Hierarchy Properties

Hierarchy Property Definition

Default Display Properties

Default Paste Properties

If set, the Use Default Property List option is displayed in the Paste Properties dialog box. When this option is selected, only the properties specified here are pasted. If not set, the option is not displayed.

Default Match By

Default property by which to synchronize nodes for the current hierarchy.

Enable Shared Nodes

Determines if shared nodes are allowed in the hierarchy.

Hierarchy Node Type

Points to the node-level property that is used to determine if a specified node is a certain Node Type. Enables the use of node types for a hierarchy.

Hierarchy URL

URL hyperlink for directly accessing the hierarchy from an external resource

Hierarchy Description

Hierarchy description

Hierarchy Group

Displays the hierarchy group to which the hierarchy is assigned

Hierarchy ID

Unique, internal identifier for the hierarchy

Hierarchy Name

Hierarchy name

Hierarchy Owner

The user name of the hierarchy owner

Hierarchy Sort Order

Integer value that determines the order of display for hierarchies within a version or hierarchy group

ID Length Leaf Property

Used with the ID feature to determine the total length of the ID (excluding the prefix and including leading zeros). Points to the node-level property that is used to specify the length for the specified leaf node. If not set, then the length of the next sequential ID is used without leading zeros.

ID Length Limb Property

Used with the ID feature to determine the total length of the ID (excluding the prefix and including leading zeros). Points to the node-level property that is used to specify the length for the specified limb node. If not set, then the length of the next sequential ID is used without leading zeros.

Prefill Leaf Property

Points to the node-level property that is used to pre-fill node name when creating new leaf node

Prefill Limb Property

Points to the node-level property that is used to pre-fill node name when creating new limb node

Standard Hierarchy Sort

Points to a node-level property to determine default sort order within the hierarchy

Top Node

Name of the top node for the hierarchy

Top Node ID

Node ID of the top node

User Display Properties

Determines how hierarchy nodes display for the current user

Note: For Anonymous profile users, this property is used for the current session only.

User Hierarchy Sort

Points to a node-level property to determine sort order within the hierarchy for the current user

Note: For Anonymous profile users, this property is used for the current session only.

User Match By

Property by which to synchronize nodes in the selected hierarchy for the current user

Note: For Anonymous profile users, this property is used for the current session only.
