Journal Status

The journal status indicates the current state of the journal. The status of a journal changes when you create, submit, approve, reject, or post the journal.

Table 11-1 Journal Statuses

Status Description

Working

Journal is created. It has been saved, but it can be incomplete. For example, it might need to have a label or single entity assigned.

Submitted

Journal is submitted for approval.

Approved

Journal is approved for posting.

Rejected

Journal is rejected or unposted.

Posted

Journal adjustments are posted to the database.

The journal actions that are available depend on the journal status. For example, if the journal has a status of Approved, the only actions available are Reject or Post.
