Journal Security Roles

The journal tasks that you can perform depend on the role assigned to you by the administrator. If a journal task is not available to you, either it is disabled, or it is displayed with a message alerting you that you do not have the rights to perform the action.

To open a journal, you must have Read access to one or more of the cells referenced in the line items. If you do not have Read access to the cells, an error message will display that you do not have access rights to perform the journal task.

To edit a journal, you must have All access to the security class for the journal. To post a journal, you must have All access to the security classes of every dimension in the detail lines that use security classes.

These default security roles pertain to journals:

• Journals Administrator (unrestricted journals access)

• Manage Templates

• Create Journals

• Create Unbalanced Journals

• Generate Recurring

• Read Journals

• Approve Journals

• Post Journals
