Using Essbase 21c with Profitability and Cost Management Applications
Note:
- Essbase cube(s) for a Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management application may not appear within the legacy Essbase Administrative Services (EAS) user interface. Ensure that you use the Administrative Essbase Web Interface to work with the Essbase cubes.
- For Hyperion Profitability and Cost Management, Essbase 21c (Version 21.4.2) is now supported on both Windows and Linux environment.

Running the Profitability and Cost Management applications with Essbase 21c
- Stop all the EPM services and Essbase services.
- Navigate to
essbase.cfgconfiguration file. The configuration file,essbase.cfgis located in the following directory:<Domain Root>/<Domain Name>/config/fmwconfig/essconfig/essbaseNote:
<DOMAIN_DIR>is the Essbase 21c domain directory (for example,/ESB214/user_projects/domains/essbase_domain) whereESB214is the install folder for Essbase 21.4.2. - Open
essbase.cfgin a text editor. - Add
FILEGOVPATH OFF.Note:
By default, File Governance is implicitly ON. - Save
essbase.cfgconfiguration file. - Patch
ess_japi.jar(downloaded from Essbase Jet UI) in/Oracle/Middleware/EPMSystem11R1/common/EssbaseJavaAPI/11.1.2.0/libon all the EPM servers.Note: To download the
ess_japi.jarfile:- Open Essbase Jet UI.
- Click Console.
- On the Console page, click Desktop Tools > Essbase JAPI.
- Click the Download icon to download the
ess_japi.jarfile.
- Restart all the EPM services and Essbase services.
