Changing the POV in Reports

You can change the POV in a report.

Note:

Before you begin:

  • You should have completed steps 1 through 3 (and, if you're working with prompts, step 4) in Importing and Working with Fully Formatted Reports

  • Save the workbook if there are changes that you want to keep. The workbook will be closed and regenerated when you edit the POV.

To change the POV in an imported report.
  1. Click the Edit POV button in the Narrative Reporting ribbon:

    This launches the Select POV dialog:


    Select POV dialog with drop-down menu selectors for each dimension in the report.

    Use the drop-down arrow in each field to locate drop-down menus indicating that the dimension POV can be changed.

  2. If the drop-down list contains a fixed list of options, select an option from the list.
  3. If the drop-down list contains a Select option:
    1. Click Select to open the Member Selection dialog.

      In the example in step 1, the Segments dimension contains a Select option.

    2. In the left pane of the Member Selection dialog, expand the members where necessary, then select a member and click Right arrow button to move it to the right pane, and then click OK.

      Note:

      Only one member from the current dimension can be selected at a time. To select a member from a different dimension, you must exit Member Selection and then select a different dimension in the Select POV dialog.

      In the following example, the IN member has been selected and moved to the right pane.

      In the above example, after clicking OK in the Member Selection dialog, the IN member will be selected in the Segments field of the Select POV dialog. The IN member will also be available for selection in the Segments drop-down member selection list.

      Note:

      The designer of your report specifies during POV definition whether the drop-down list is static or contains a Select option indicating that member selection is allowed for the POV (described in Defining the Grid Point of View in the Reports Designing with Reports for Oracle Enterprise Performance Management Cloud ).

    3. Repeat step a and step b for each member that you want to add to the drop-down member selector list.

      To choose members from another dimension, locate another dimension containing a Select option in the drop-down list and repeat step a and step b for each member that you want to add to the drop-down member selector list for the dimension.

  4. Perform an action in the Select POV dialog:
    • Click OK, taking the newly-selected member as your POV selection.

    • Click the drop-down menu and select any of the available members from the list, including the newly-added member, and then click OK.

    The formatted report is regenerated using the updated POV.
