WebView2 Runtime Setting and Provider Error

In the Health Check dialog, the Enable for UI and Enable for All options were introduced for the WebView2 Runtime setting in Oracle Smart View for Office 23.100. Starting in release 24.100, Enable for All is the default selection for WebView2 Runtime.

In Smart View 23.100+, some connection issues can be resolved by ensuring that WebView2 Runtime is set to Enable for All. For example, if you see this message when trying to connect:

The provider running at server_name is not a Shared Services Provider.

Then ensure that WebView2 Runtime is set to Enable for All.

To set WebView2 Runtime to Enable for All:

  1. In the Smart View ribbon, select Help, and then select Health Check.
  2. In the Smart View Options group, locate the WebView2 Runtime setting.
  3. Depending on your Smart View version, perform an action:
    • Smart View 23.100 and 23.200: Click in the Fix/Update/Info column and select the Enable for All option.
    • Smart View 24.100+: Click the Recommended Settings button to reset this option to the default, Enable for All.
  4. Click Close to exit the Health Check dialog.
  5. Retry the connection.
