Adding/Importing the ESU Using the Web Client

To add/import the ESU using the Web Client:

  1. Sign in to EnterpriseOne on the web client.

  2. From the Software Updates menu (GH9612), select the Work with Software Update - Web application (P96470W).

  3. If the ESU is downloaded using Change Assistant:

    1. Click Add.
    2. Select the ESU from the Software Update Portable Archives Search & Select form and click Ok.
    3. Verify the ESU populated in the grid of the Work with Software Updates form.
  4. If the ESU is downloaded from the Update Center using the browser:

    1. Select the Form exit, Import.

    2. Click the Choose File button and access the downloaded file. Only one ESU can be imported at a time.

    3. Click the Load button. The file is imported and the application returns to the Work with Software Update – Web (P96470W) application. The new ESU appears in the grid.

  5. The system also populates the Software Update Status window on the screen which displays a visual of the deployment status highlighting the current deployment step and the percentage of update remaining.
    Note: If the Software Update Status window does not appear, select Software Update Status History from the Layout dropdown menu.
  6. The Work with Software Updates form presents these Row exits:

    1. Detail Status - Verify the steps that were run for the selected ESU.
    2. Objects - View the objects delivered with the selected ESU.

      If you have not deployed the ESU, the system shows the list of objects from the manifest table (F96400). If the ESU is deployed, the system shows the list of objects from the Software Update Pathcode Information table (F9672).

    3. Bugs - Displays the list of bugs associated with the objects included in the ESU package. Double-click on the bug to view the bug details.

    4. History - Displays a list of reports from the Table Conversion History Log (F984052). In the Software Update Plan History form, click the View Output icon or the PDF File Name link to download and view the reports.
      Note: If the ESU was applied on the Deployment Server, the View Output column is hidden in the Update Plan History form and the reports cannot be accessed.
    5. Advanced Setup - The Advanced Software Update Setup form displays a list of table components that you can configure to recopy.
    6. Special Instructions - If the downloaded ESU has special instructions in the EnterpriseOne Software Archive Repository table (F96700R), the Special Instructions option is seen in the Row menu. Click Special Instructions to access the Work with Special Instructions form.

      The special instructions for the selected ESU are displayed in the grid. To view the list of enhancement types for localizations, click Enhancements on the Form menu. The system displays the Work with Enhancements form with the list of registered enhancements for your enterprise.
