1099-G
- Unemployment Compensation
- Specify the minimum amount that you can report for 1099-G Box 1, Unemployement Compensation. A 1099 will not be reported if the payee's amount for this box is less than the minimum, unless a withholding amount is reported on 1099-G Box 4, Federal income tax withheld. The minimum amount that the IRS requires to be reported for 1099-G Box 1, is specified in the Instructions for Forms 1099, 1098, 5498, and W-2G.
- State or Local Income Tax Refunds, Credits, or Offsets
- Specify the minimum amount that you can report for 1099-G Box 2, State or local tax refunds, credits, or offsets. A 1099 will not be reported if the payee's amount for this box is less than the minimum, unless a withholding amount is reported on 1099-G Box 4, Federal income tax withheld. The minimum amount that the IRS requires to be reported for 1099-G Box 2, is specified in the Instructions for Forms 1099, 1098, 5498, and W-2G.
- RTAA Payments
- Specify the minimum amount that you can report for 1099-G Box 5, RTAA payments. A 1099 will not be reported if the payee's amount for this box is less than the minimum, unless a withholding amount is reported on 1099-G Box 4, Federal income tax withheld. The minimum amount that the IRS requires to be reported for 1099-G Box 5, is specified in the Instructions for Forms 1099, 1098, 5498, and W-2G.
- Taxable Grants
- Specify the minimum amount that you can report for 1099-G Box 6, Taxable grants. A 1099 will not be reported if the payee's amount for this box is less than the minimum, unless a withholding amount is reported on 1099-G Box 4, Federal income tax withheld. The minimum amount that the IRS requires to be reported for 1099-G Box 6, is specified in the Instructions for Forms 1099, 1098, 5498, and W-2G.
- 2. Maximum Amount for Blank Box 10
- Specify the maximum amount that you can report in the empty box next to Box 9 of 1099-G. This box shows the interest amount that you receive on the amount in 1099-G, Box 2, if the interest is less than $600.
- 3. Amount for Tax Year
- Specify the four-digit tax year for which the refund, credit, or offset was made. You can enter a single year to report on a 1099-G form. If the amounts apply for more than one year, use separate forms to report those. Leave this field empty for reporting amounts for the year 2020.
- 4. Trade or Business Income
- Specify whether to check or uncheck 1099-G Box 8, If Checked, Box 2 is trade or business income. If this box is checked, the amount in Box 2 is attributable to an income tax that applies exclusively to an income from a trade or business and is not a tax of general application. Specify 1 to check the box or 0 to leave it unchecked.
