Prerequisites for Registering an Existing IBM i Database as a New Managed Instance

This chapter discusses the topics that enable you to register an existing IBM i Database as a managed instance.

  1. Management Agent is installed on the same target machine where you have installed the DB2 that you are planning to register.

    Note: Refer to Chapter 1 of this guide, "Installing the Server Manager Management Console and Agent".

  2. As an IBM i user, you must be able to log in to the database with the following authority:

    *ALLOBJ *SECADM *SAVSYS *IOSYSCFG *JOBCTL

  3. You must enable the IBMi DB2 database for Transport Layer Security (TLS). Refer to the JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Applications Installation Guide for Code Current.
