Contract Types

Contract Management provides you with a way to record and manage these types of contracts:

  • Service Contract

  • Supplier Contract

A service contract is a written agreement between a customer and a provider (contractor). The customer requests a service. The contractor bills the customer for the services provided under the contract. The agreement can be changed to include extra services. Service packages are used to define the services extended by a company to their customer as outlined in the contract.

A supplier contract is a written agreement between a manufacturer and a supplier. It is a nonbillable contract that does not require an end date. The supplier contract indicates the type of coverage for parts that are purchased from the supplier, and the type of coverage that is included in a product that is manufactured or sold by the manufacturer. If the part fails and the manufacturer fixes or replaces it, the manufacturer can return the part to the supplier for a credit or a refund.
