Understanding How to Use the Workflow Monitor

You can use Workflow Monitor to monitor the state of your workflow processes. The Workflow Monitor lists all the workflows in your enterprise and provides you a detailed view of each of the tasks in each workflow process. You can also review the resource (or employee) assigned to that task, the start and end time of each task, and the time and date that a task expired.

The Workflow Monitor also provides workflow administrators the ability to suspend, resume, or terminate any JD Edwards EnterpriseOne workflow process instance.

Note: Starting with Tools Release 9.2.8.2, you can filter the workflow processes in which tasks are assigned to a specific resource (or employee). See Resource (Release 9.2.8.2) for details.

The Workflow Monitor opens with a summary view of workflow processes.

Below fields are available for you to filter your workflow processes:

  • Process

Enter the name of a workflow process you want to check. This is not a literal field. A partial match of characters will list the workflows.

  • Originator

Enter the Address Book number for the originator of the workflow process.

  • Resource (Release 9.2.8.2)

Enter the Address Book number for the resource (employee) to which a task or tasks within a workflow process are assigned. You have the following options available to filter your workflow processes:

    • Include processes that match either the originator filter or the resource filter.
    • Only include processes that match both the originator filter and the resource filter.
  • Start Date Range

Select the date range from the drop-down list for which you want to view the workflow processes. You have the below options:.

    • Custom: Allows you to define a date range
    • Today
    • Past Week
    • Past Month
    • Past Year

Further, you can use the selections to filter the workflow processes as per the below statuses:

Task Status Filter (Release 9.2.8.3)

Starting with Tools Release 9.2.8.3, Workflow Monitor provides an option for the users to filter the tasks and assignment tasks based on the status of the tasks. You can use these filters to restrict the set of displayed workflow instances based on the statuses of the tasks and assignment tasks within the workflow instances. When you apply filters, a Clear button appears next to the Task Status Filter drop-down. You can click the Clear button to remove the task status filters.

The Workflow Monitor displays the workflow processes in rows with the following details:

  • Process

Name of the workflow process followed by the version

  • Active

    Number of active workflow processes

  • Completed

    Number of completed workflow processes

  • Suspended

    Number of suspended workflow processes

  • Terminated

    Number of terminated workflow processes

  • Error

Number of workflow processes ending in error

  • Awaiting

Number of workflow processes awaiting user action

  • Total

Total number of workflow process instances

To refresh the workflow processes list icon, remove the filters and tab out. Alternatively, you can remove the filters and click the Refresh icon aton the top-right corner.

You can expand the node of the listed workflow process to view the details. The available tabs are Instances and Metrics.
