Understanding the Invoice Entry Master Business Function

The purpose of a master business function (MBF) is to provide a central location for standard business rules about entering documents, such as invoices, vouchers, and journal entries. Master business functions have processing options. You complete the MBF processing options, and then specify the version of the MBF that the system uses in the processing options of the entry program.

The system uses the Invoice Entry MBF Processing Options (P03B0011) when invoices are created using these programs:

  • Standard Invoice Entry (P03B11)

  • Speed Invoice Entry (P03B11SI)

  • Batch Invoice Processor (R03B11Z1A)

Additionally, invoices are generated from applications in these systems:

  • Sales Order Management

  • Contract and Service Billing

  • Real Estate Management

It is the responsibility of the program that uses the Invoice MBF to state which version of the MBF is used. If no version is explicitly specified, the system uses version ZJDE0001.
