Restarting the Specification Merge

If the Specification Merge stops with a status of 50 before it completes successfully, you can restart it from the point at which it stopped. If the merge completed successfully, you can skip this task and continue with the next task.

If the Specification Merge abruptly stops with a status of 45 (running), you should change it to status 50 and click Save.

To restart the specification merge:

  1. Check the Specification Merge status as shown in the Specification Merge Workbench.

If the status is 50, you can restart the Specification Merge by clicking Merge or Merge All. The Specification Merge restarts and processes all non-processed objects. Before restarting, review all objects with merge status of error and follow the procedures in Modifying the Merge Status of an Object to reset the merge status using P98700.

  2. On menu GH9611 run Specification Merge Status.

  3. Filter on Merge Status 1 (in Process).

  4. Make a note of the object that is in process.

  5. Highlight that object, click on Reset Merge Status.

  6. On the next screen, change the New Merge Status to 0.

  7. Click the OK button.

Note: If the object being processed was a UBE, BSVW or TBLE, you need to verify that object once the Specification Merge has completed. The object may have had some changes applied twice.
