Configure Installers for New Tools Releases

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne administrator must address certain client-side issues that arise when applying new Tools Releases.

The administrator applies new Tools Releases to a Deployment Server using Server Manager (SM). This program delivers updates to these Development Client installers located on the Deployment Server:

  • DevelopmentClient
  • WLSH4A (WebLogic H4A)
  • WASH4A (WebSphere H4A)

Server Manager delivers the installers; however, some Tools Releases require you to manually perform steps to address some obsolete files and directories in the existing installers or to reconcileyour existing and the newly delivered oraparam.ini and response files that the OUI installers use. The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Administrator should use the following procedures to resolve these issues. Newer Tools Releases of Server Manager automate these steps.

Note: If you are not using a particular H4A installer, you can ignore references to it in the following steps.

With some Tools Releases, the version of OUI is changed. Mixing of OUI files from different OUI versions can cause installations to fail or even runtime errors.

Important: As a rule, when a Tools Release with a new version of OUI is applied to the Deployment Server, save via Snapshot or uninstall the Development Client product before installing any package or Web Client (WLSH4A or WASH4A) on that machine.
