Data Selection for One View Financial Statements

Note: This chapter provides an overview and examples of data selection for One View Financial Statements reports. Information specific to the statement components for which you set up data selection is discussed in the chapters for those statement components. See

Data selection for the One View Financial Statements (OVFS) functionality enables you to specify the value or range of values that the system uses to retrieve data from the Account Master (F0901), Account Balances (F0902), and Business Unit Master (F0006) tables. You can set up data selection for these One View Financial Statements components:

  • Row definitions

Four types of row definitions exist in the system. You can set up data selection for only the Data type of row definition, which enables you to define how the system retrieves account balances for the column definitions included in a financial statement. The system does not enable you to select data items from the F0902 table for row definitions.

You cannot associate data selection with the text value, numeric value, or subtotal row definition types. Additionally, the system does not apply data selection that you set up at the statement version level to the text value, numeric value, or subtotal row definition types.

You can use values from the F0901 and F0006 tables when you set up data selection for row definitions.

  • Column definitions

You use column definitions to identify the account balance types, time frame, and ledger types from which to retrieve data for your statement. You can associate data selection with column definitions to specify a range of ledger types, the currency code, accounts or account ranges, or other data.

You can use values from the F0901, F0902, and F0006 tables when you set up data selection for column definitions.

Note: If the column definition does not specify a ledger type, then you must specify a ledger type or a range of ledger types in the data selection for the column definition.Oracle recommends that you specify the ledger type using data selection only when you need to specify multiple ledger types.
  • Statement versions

You set up statement versions to associate a layout and other parameters to a statement definition. The data selection that you set up for a statement version applies to all of the row and column definitions included on a statement definition.

You can use values from the F0901 and F0006 tables when you set up data selection for statement versions.
