Statement Sections

Each section that you created in the statement definition appears in the data model. The name of the section in the data model is the same as the name of the section in the statement definition. For example, if you created sections in your statement definition named Revenues, Total Revenues, Costs, and Gross Margin, the data model includes sections with each of those names.

Statement definition sections for text value and numeric value sections include components for the section description and the text value. The numeric value section also include components for the numeric value and numeric value mask. The numeric value mask enables you to format the numeric value.

Each statement definition section for data row definitions and subtotal row definitions have the following subsections:

Columnmasks (column masks)

Each column from the statement definition appears in the column masks subsection. You use the column masks to format the account balances using the decimal position as determined by data dictionary properties for the data item on which the column is based.

Rowset (row set)

The Rowset subsection lists the components for the data and subtotal row definitions. The components in the subsection differ based on the row definition type. This list discusses the components for each row definition type:

  • Data with grouping elements

The row set for data row definitions with grouping elements includes all of the grouping elements and parameters included in the row definition, as well as any additional elements that the system provides based on the grouping elements selected. For example, if the row definition includes OBJ (object) as a grouping element, the row set includes the object account, account level of detail, and the posting edit code. If you selected the check boxes for the level of detail rollup, the GLG AAI item numbers, and the description, the row set also includes the components related to those parameters. The row set also lists the columns associated with the section in which the row definition is used.

See Understanding the Data with Grouping Elements Row Definition Type

Because all data row definitions within a section must have the same parameters, the components for the row definition are listed once only no matter how many row definitions are included in the section on the statement definition.

  • Data without grouping elements

The row set for a section that contains a data row definition without grouping elements includes the section description from the statement definition, the row definition title entered for the row definition, and the column definitions associated with the section of the statement definition.

  • Subtotal

The row set for a section that contains a subtotal row definition includes the section description that you entered in the statement definition, and the column definitions associated with the section of the statement definition.
