Statement Version Names and Descriptions

When you set up a statement version, you enter a version name and a version description. The system appends the version name to the statement definition name when the system assigns a name to the data selection query.

The fields for the name and description do not allow you to save records if you enter certain invalid characters. This list describes the invalid characters for the name and description:

  • Tilde (~)

  • Single quotation mark (')

  • Double quotation marks (")

  • Grave accent (')

  • Exclamation point (!)

  • At sign (@)

  • Number sign (#)

  • Dollar sign ($)

  • Percent sign (%)

  • Circumflex (^)

  • Ampersand (&)

  • Asterisk (*)

  • Left parentheses(()

  • Right parentheses ())

  • Hyphen (-)

  • Plus sign (+)

  • Equal sign (=)

  • Left bracket ([)

  • Right bracket (])

  • Left brace ({)

  • Right brace (})

  • Vertical bar (|)

  • Slash (/)

  • Backslash (\)

  • Semicolon (;)

  • Colon (:)

  • Greater than symbol (>)

  • Less than symbol (<)

  • Comma (,)

  • Question mark (?)

Note: You can use the period punctuation mark (.) and underscores (_) in the name, description, and title fields. Spaces between characters are allowed for the description but not for names.

If you enter a statement version name or description with a non-supported special character or space, the Revise Statement Version form issues an error message. You must modify the characters before you can continue.

The combination of the statement definition name and the statement version name must be unique; you cannot enter the name of an existing statement version that you previously set up for the statement definition. You can, however, create multiple statement versions for the same statement definition.
