Understanding Statement Versions

You use the Statement Versions program (P09340) to create statement versions and layout versions. You use statement versions to specify parameters that apply to the financial statement that you want to generate. The system uses the statement version parameters along with the row, column, and statement definitions, and the data selection specified, to generate your financial statements.

When you create statement versions, you begin by selecting an existing statement definition so that you associate the statement version with the statement definition. You can associate multiple statement versions with a statement definition. However, you cannot create a statement version without first having a statement definition to which you associate the statement version.

After you create statement versions, you can create one or more layouts to use with the versions. You can create multiple versions and multiple layouts to use with a statement definition.
