UDCs Used by Row Definitions

The JD Edwards EnterpriseOne system provides hard-coded values for these user-defined code (UDC) tables:

09/GT (Row Definition Type)

When you set up a row definition, you select a value from this UDC table to specify the type of row definition to set up. The row definition type determines the parameters of the row definition and how you can use it in a financial statement. The Revise Row Definition form displays the UDC description only. The Work with Row Definitions form displays both the code and the description.

Values are:

  • D: Data

When you select this option, you must specify the grouping elements to use if you specified that you are using grouping elements. If you select this option and do not use grouping elements, then you must enter a title. Oracle recommends that you associate data selection for the account balances in the row definition, but you can also set up the data selection in column definitions and in the version.

  • N: Numeric value

When you select this option, only numeric values are valid for the row.

  • S: Subtotal

When you select this option, you enter a title for the row definition. When you use this row definition type in a statement definition, you specify the range of sections in the statement definition to include in the subtotal line that appears on the financial statement.

The Statement Definition program uses the name of the subtotal row as the section description. You can change the section description. The system uses the section description on the financial statement.

  • T: Text value

When you select this option, only text values are valid for the row.

09/SM (OVFS Definition Status)

A user-defined code (09/SM) that indicates whether a financial statement definition is active, a work in progress, or inactive. This code serves as an informational message; no validations are applied. Blank is not a valid value.

When you add a row definition, the system completes this field with the default value of Work in Progress.

Values are:

01: Work in progress

02: Active

03: Inactive

(09/C1 - 09/C5) OVFS Financial Statement Category Codes

You can set up values in these category codes to use for column definitions, row definitions, statement definitions, and statement versions. You can use the category codes to identify the types of data, users, access, or other attributes that you need for the financial statement components. You can also use these category codes to set up security for the components.

To set up security, you assign a category code value to the column, row, or statement definition; or to the version; and then your system security administrator can use the codes to apply security for the component.

Examples of values are:

  • Data sensitivity

  • Statement types
