Understanding Loan Processing for Australian Higher Education
The Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) is a suite of income contingent loans: HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP, OS-HELP, and SA-HELP.
Note:
From January 1, 2020, FEE-HELP, HECS-HELP, VET Student Loans, and VET FEE-HELP are used to form students’ combined HELP loan limit and usage. Existing FEE-HELP, VET FEE-HELP, and VET Student Loan debts are carried over and count towards your HELP loan limit. Previous HECS-HELP debts are not included in the HELP loan limit, but from January 1, 2020, new HECS-HELP borrowing count towards the limit.
