Understanding Customization Groups

Customization Groups provide a high level functional impact of the customizations in the system. This can be used by the administrative and executive level users.

It is a collection of managed objects that are grouped together to represent a business customization, related object set, maintenance impact area, or project-based grouping.

Customization groups help you:

• Group related managed objects under a meaningful customization or maintenance category.
• Identify which customizations require attention during maintenance, upgrade planning, or optimization.
• Filter Insights by various attributes available like groups, owner, complexity, and so on, and display as visualization. Then take actions based on these Insights.

From PeopleTools 8.63 you are provided with the following two different Insights dashboard:

• My Customized Objects page- This dashboard is used to review individual customized managed objects and analyze object-level details. It is used by the administrator level users.
• My Customization Groups page- This dashboard focuses on how those customized objects are grouped for ownership, maintenance, impact analysis, and follow-up action.It is used by both administrator and executive level users.
