Configuring NL Search Service

Configure the NL Search Service to process natural language questions and retrieve secured search results from the PeopleSoft OpenSearch instance.

Use the following configuration parameters to configure the NL Search Service.

Parameter	Description	Example
endpoint_url	The OpenAI-compliant chat completions url endpoint for the LLM model.	https://<base url>/openai/v1/chat/completions
model	The actual LLM model name as required by the chat completions API.	xai.grok-4.3
bearer_token	The API key used to access the model.	sk-***

This is an example of the configuration file with the endpoint url specified for NL search configuration.

Note:

Save this configuration file in the same directory as the MCP configuration file (/tmp/config_search.txt). This is the default location for the configuration file. Customers can override the default location by specifying a different path on the PeopleTools Feature Options page. See Portal Technology: Enabling Chat UI.
