Scheduling Automatic Incremental Indexing

The PTSFINCGENFD Application Engine program periodically monitors the configured search definitions and schedules incremental indexing when data is available for the fields specified on the Set up Incremental Indexing page for a search definition.

Oracle recommends associating a recurrence for PTSFINCGENFD to monitor data availability at regular intervals.

To automate incremental indexing, complete the following steps:

  1. Modify the delivered recurrence "Indexing Recurrence", if needed.

  2. Navigate to the Schedule Process Request page PeopleTools, and then Process Scheduler, and then Schedule Process Request.

  3. Create or use an existing run control ID.

  4. Schedule the PTSFINCGENFD Application Engine program using the "Indexing Recurrence" recurrence.
