Restricting Bulk SVT Operations
It explains how Siebel Clinical restricts and audits site-level SVT version changes and bulk apply actions based on user responsibilities.
Siebel Clinical allows administrators to restrict certain Subject Visit Template (SVT) operations to users with designated responsibilities. This functionality helps maintain data integrity and prevents unauthorized changes that could affect integrations with external systems such as Oracle Clinical One.
When this restriction is enabled, only users whose responsibilities are configured in the system preference can perform specific SVT operations at the site level.
Restricted operations include:
- Changing the active SVT version at the site level
- Applying SVT to selected subjects
- Applying SVT to all subjects
System Preference for SVT Access Control
The following system preference controls access to bulk SVT operations.
| System Preference | Description |
|---|---|
| CL - Apply SVT Access | Specifies the responsibilities that are allowed to perform SVT version changes and bulk SVT operations. |
This system preference can contain one or more responsibility names.
Only users whose responsibilities match the configured values can perform the restricted operations.
Restricted User Actions
When the system preference is configured, only authorized users can perform the following actions:
- Modify the active SVT version in the Protocol Site List > Versions MVG
- Execute the following buttons in the Subjects applet:
Site Management > Protocol Site > Clinical Subject
Supported actions include:
- Apply SVT to Selected
- Apply SVT to All
If a user does not have one of the configured responsibilities, the system disables these operations.
Concurrent Operation Control
To prevent conflicting updates, the system restricts concurrent SVT operations.
Only one user can execute an SVT apply operation for a given site at a time.
While an SVT operation is in progress:
- Other users cannot modify the SVT version.
- The SVT apply buttons remain disabled for other users.
This control prevents inconsistent scheduling or version changes during batch operations.
Logging Bulk SVT Operations
Details about bulk SVT operations are recorded for auditing and troubleshooting purposes.
Operation information is logged in the following location:
Protocol Site List > Bulk SVT Details
The log records information related to the operation, including the site and the execution details.
