Automatic Diagnostic Collection
Diagnostics collection and notifications help you and Oracle Cloud Operations monitor Database guest VMs and identify, investigate, track, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
Subscribe to Events to receive notifications about resource state changes.
Automatic diagnostic collection can include the following types of information:
-
Diagnostic Events
Collects and publishes critical, warning, error, and informational events. For more information, see Events. -
Health Monitoring
Collects health metrics and events, such as database availability and disk space usage, and shares them with Oracle Cloud Operations. You also receive notifications for selected events. For more information, see Monitor Metrics. -
Incident Logs and Trace Collection
Collects incident logs and trace files to support fault diagnosis and issue resolution.
Diagnostics collection can have the following statuses:
- Enabled: Diagnostics collection is enabled when you select to collect diagnostic events, health metrics, incident logs, and trace files.
- Disabled: Diagnostics collection is not enabled when you select not to collect diagnostic events, health metrics, incident logs, and trace files.
- Partially enabled: Diagnostics collection is partially enabled when you select to collect one or two of the available types of diagnostic information.
Disabling diagnostic events and health monitoring stops the collection and notification of data and events from the time that you clear the corresponding options. Historical data is not purged from Oracle Cloud Operations data repositories.
