Manage Maintenance Contacts
This topic provides the details and procedure to manage primary and secondary maintenance contacts.
Before you begin, review the following:
-
Maintenance contacts are required for service request based communications for hardware maintenance.
-
You can add a primary maintenance contact and optionally add a maximum of nine secondary contacts.
-
Both the primary and secondary contacts receive all notifications about hardware maintenance.
-
You can promote any secondary contacts as the primary anytime you want. When you promote a secondary contact to primary, the current primary contact will be demoted automatically to secondary.
Note: Maintenance contacts are used for service request-based communications related to hardware replacement. They do not receive automatic notifications about scheduled software maintenance, network connectivity issues, or OCI service events.
To receive automatic notifications about software maintenance and other events that affect your Data Infrastructure, create an OCI announcement subscription.
For more information, see Subscribe to Announcements.
