Configure AIDP Unit Usage Threshold Email Alerts

Configure and send email notifications to administrators and users when Oracle Analytics Cloud AIDP Unit consumption reaches a specific threshold.

Before you configure threshold alerts, ensure that you have the BI Service Administrator application role or belong to an application role with the Manage LLMs permission to manage AIDP Unit usage for your organization.

To use the Terms and Billings tab to manage AIDP Units, confirm that your OCI administrator set up AIDP Units billing for additional AIDP Unit usage. See Enable Overage Billing for AI Tokens in Administering Oracle Analytics Cloud on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (Gen 2).

Alerts help you proactively monitor AI usage and avoid unexpected interruptions to AI-powered features in Oracle Analytics Cloud. AI features stop processing requests when the AIDP Unit allowance is exhausted unless overage usage is enabled. Configuring alerts allows you to take corrective action before service interruptions occur.
After receiving an alert, you can take these actions:
  • Review AIDP Unit consumption trends.
  • Enable overage usage.
  • Restrict selected AI features.
  • Limit access to high-consumption workflows.
  • Purchase additional AI capacity.
  • Switch AI to a less expensive model, or use the legacy model, which doesn't charge AIDP Units for generative AI features.
