User Names as the User Identifier in Service Logs

Administrators use this system setting to specify whether to identify users by their user name in audit and diagnostic service logs. When this setting is disabled (off), users are identified by their user GUID in service logs.

User names are logged if this setting is enabled (on), and this might make user identification easier for administrators who monitor service logs through Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Console. See About Audit and Diagnostic Logs for Oracle Analytics Cloud.

Valid Values

  • On — Record the names of users performing actions in service logs.

    For example: "userId":"john.smith@mycompany.com"

  • Off — Record the GUIDs of users performing actions in service logs. Default

    For example: "userId":"aa11bb22cc33dd44ee55ff66gg77hh88"
