Refresh Auto Insights to Include Filters

When you add filters to your workbook or make new selections for existing filters, you can refresh Auto Insights to see updated insights that take into account the new filters and filter selections.

Auto Insights considers filters in the filter bar, dashboard filters, and visualization filters. For more information about filters, see Filter Data.
If you add one of these updated insights to your canvas and it has a custom calculation that also uses the filter, the calculation appears under My Calculations in the Data pane with (Filtered) in front of its name.
  1. On the Home page, hover over a workbook, click Actions, then select Open.
  2. Click Auto Insights Auto Insights icon (white means processing, yellow means ready) to review the insights currently available for the dataset.

  3. Close the Insights pane.
  4. On your canvas, update the selections for an existing filter or add a new filter, then click Auto Insights Auto Insights icon (white means processing, yellow means ready).
    The Refresh icon beside Insight Settings is now available.
  5. Click Refresh. The text at the top of the pane changes to indicate that the insights discovered include filters.
