About Sharing Data Flows and Sequences

Users can share data flows and sequences with other Oracle Analytics users, who can then use them to prepare data.

Sharing data flows and sequences enables you to collaborate on data preparation projects and reuse Oracle Analytics assets and resources.

About Sharing Data Flows and Sequences

  • If you own a data flow, users that you share the data flow with can see it on the Data Flow tab of their Data page.

  • If you own a sequence, users that you share the sequence with can see it on the Sequences tab of their Data page.
    Sequences dialog

  • When you share data flows or sequences, you're given the option to also share datasets and connections (known as artifacts) used in them. If you select Share related artifact(s) to ensure the data flow is usable, users that you share with get read-only access to input datasets and full-control access to output artifacts, as well as access to other data flow components. If you select Don't share related artifact(s), you have to manually give users or roles read and write access to the data flow components.

  • Users who you share data flows or sequences with can't subsequently re-share them with other users, because they don't have the full-control privileges required to share artifacts. In this scenario, you have to manually give users or roles read and write access to input datasets using the Access tab on the Inspect dialog for a dataset.
About Scheduling Data Flows and Sequences
  • Only the user who creates a schedule can see that schedule in the Inspect dialog. Users with administration permissions can see all schedules in the Jobs page.

  • On the Jobs and Schedules tabs in the Jobs page, administrators can see all jobs and schedules. Content authors can only see jobs and schedules if they were the last user to edit that schedule. Scheduled jobs will run as the user who added or last edited the schedule.
