Specify Canvas Filter Actions
When you configure the presentation settings for a workbook, each canvas inherits the filter actions you set on the Workbook tab. You can use the Active Canvas tab to customize an individual canvas' filter bar options for consumers, for example, add filters or change filter values.
Showing the filter bar allows consumers to view, set, and modify any items in it, such as canvas filters, selection steps, or parameters. You can select values for items in the filter bar and then hide the filter bar so that the canvas includes specific data. Hiding the filter bar prevents consumers from changing the values.
Any filter settings that you change or filter values that you add or remove using the presentation settings are saved to the consumer view of the canvas and not to the canvas in the workbook editor.
All Filter Actions options are grayed out when the
Full Interactivity option is set to
Off on the Workbook
tab. See Turn On or Off All Workbook and Canvas Actions.
